Junior Golf Passport Program
The Junior Golf Passport is the national structured learning programme endorsed by the PGA for junior golfers aged 6-12 years old. The multi-layered programme progresses a complete novice golfer into a junior golfer who can enjoy, compete and begin their journey within golf. Getting started in golf for the first time can be challenging, this programme essentially provides a road map and pathway to guide junior golfers and their parents so they can get a head start and begin enjoying what this great game has to offer! This is a group coaching programme.
How it works
The programme has 3 key levels: START, LEARN and PLAY.
The START level is all about a fun introduction to golf.
The LEARN level is a move towards technical instruction through games based learning, always with the emphasis on fun.
The PLAY level teaches the juniors to apply their learning to the golf course. Preparing them for potential competition, club membership and continued participation in the future. However, access to the golf course and playing golf on a course are important features of the Junior Golf Passport programme from the START in order to develop a real connection to golf.
Each junior is given a 28-page booklet which guides them through each lesson. The programme covers the following key areas of golf with skills test along the way to provide motivation and track progression.
- Short Game
- Full Swing
- On the Course
- Fit for Golf
